Patient Information
• Gender: Female
Dental health is
important at any age, and advanced treatment options today make it possible to
address severe dental issues in young adults with optimal results. Recently, we
treated a 21-year-old female patient who came to our clinic with a grossly decayed
lower left first molar (#36). Due to the severity of the decay, extraction was
necessary, and to prevent bone loss and restore her function we opted for an
implant placement using a Dentium SuperLine implant. Here’s how this procedure
transformed her smile and preserved her oral health.
The Issue: Severe
Decay in Tooth #36
Our patient, a
21-year-old, presented with a grossly decayed lower left molar (tooth #36).
This tooth was causing her discomfort and affecting her ability to chew. Upon
examination, it was clear that the decay had compromised the structure of the
tooth beyond what could be saved with a filling or crown. In young adults,
missing a molar can lead to problems with bite alignment, bone loss, and even
affect neighboring teeth over time. Therefore, we recommended an extraction
with implant placement to maintain the integrity of her jawbone and ensure she
could enjoy a fully functional smile.
The Solution: Implant
Placement with Dentium SuperLine Implants
After discussing the
benefits and options with our patient, we chose an implant placement using
Dentium SuperLine implants. This approach would allow us to restore her missing
molar in a single surgical procedure, minimizing the number of appointments and
recovery time.
Dentium SuperLine
implants are known for their quality and durability, making them ideal for
young patients who need a long-lasting solution. Here’s why we selected Dentium
SuperLine for this case:
• Optimized Osseointegration: The implant’s surface is designed to
encourage rapid integration with the surrounding bone, crucial for long-term
stability.
• High Initial Stability: Dentium SuperLine implants are built
for high primary stability, allowing them to perform well even in immediate
placements.
• Enduring Durability: As a young patient, she needed an
implant that would stand the test of time and handle the functional demands of
chewing.
The Procedure:
Extraction followed by Implant Placement
The procedure began
with administering local anesthesia to ensure the patient’s comfort. We
carefully extracted the decayed tooth #36, paying close attention to preserve
as much surrounding bone as possible. Two months after the extraction, we
placed a Dentium SuperLine implant in the edentulous space.
Post-Operative Care
and Recovery
After the procedure,
we provided the patient with specific aftercare instructions, and prosthesis
was delivered after three months . Regular follow-up appointments have shown
positive progress, and the implant is integrating well with her bone.
Conclusion: A
Healthy, Lasting Solution for a Young Patient
Thanks to modern
implant technology, it’s now possible to offer young adults durable solutions
that address long-term dental health.
With the Dentium SuperLine implant, this 21-year-old patient now has a
replacement for her decayed molar that will last for years to come. She can
look forward to enjoying the full function of her smile without worrying about
future complications.
